Godaiko was just as awkward and empty as it was last year which is still really surreal because I remember Youma 2007 at that same hotel so vividly. It was crammed at all hours of the night with people, a group of 30 cosplayers out on the lawn playing red rover in the dark, people whooping from the balconies. At godaiko it's like, "oops, it's 8:30, halls are deserted, time to go home."
Met some homestickers and they were all pretty cool once I got past my crippling social phobias (legit CRYING IN THE BATHROOM while Alisa is, "I do not understand why we're not over there talking to the Homestucks," because I do not have the stones to walk up to someone and be like "hey I see you like x, me too, let's talk about it." We ended up bribing them with baked goods I guess. There is something seriously wrong with me when I am terrified of people half my age for no conceivable reason. I'm sorry if I came off as a creeper. You are all just way too cool and I cannot handle all that cool.)
Also we accidentally ended up spending all our money and have ended up making $10 stretch for like three days. What is it about cons that make my smart money spending senses fly out the window. YES I will pay $10 plus tax for a one inch tall piece of plastic in a blind box.
We'll be going to youma in november (AND COSPLAYING I feel this will make it easier to talk to people maybe?) even though we have not registered and we do not have a room and are basically flying by the seat of our pants yesssssss.
