So, did anybody else find Setzer to be just a liiiiiittle skeevy in KH2? Don't get me wrong, it was awesome that he was there (Even if it did take me about 60 long seconds to recognize him. "....Setzer? Setzer. .....? OH. Setzer. SETZER OMG. :D") But look at it this way. Struggle seems to be a game in which boys aged "young" to "not legal" beat the crap out of each other with nerf bats. But the reigning champion is a GROWN MAN. A grown man who cannot even win on his own merit or skill, but must BRIBE the leading underage boy into taking a dive. "I'll make it worth your while." Setzer, you creepy, creepy fuck!

Anyway, after Setzer, we all talked about who we'd like to or would have preferred to see in the game or upcoming sequels. My vote, always has and always will go to Faris. I think another child holding the Struggle championship would have been a great deal less disturbing, and making it a girl in a sport dominated by boys adds a touch of irony.

So I drew a de-aged, tomboyish Faris. I'm kind of sort of completely in love with her.

This picture came to me so easily. I don't think I tweaked a single thing. I drew it and I was done, and that NEVER happens.

I wish she were canon so I could slash her with Olette. Olette needs a strong female friend to be a good role model. (I hate that scene where Axel abducts Kairi, and Hayner and Pence BOTH take a swing at him, and Olette is "Maybe I'll give him a wrist burn or something! Oh, right, I'm a girl, I can't do anything, Sorry Kairi! ;) ")

You know what? I'm gonna do it anyway.

It's funny you should mention Freya and Zidane, because Faris, Freya and Zidane are my top three favorite FF characters ever, but they never had a particular order until I sat down and thought about it long and hard. I almost made a pro and con list. But in the end, Faris wins, because she is a cross dressing pirate who never falls for a man, completely SPURNS her princesshood, and is generally asskicking great, whereas Freya is asskicking great, a knight, nonhuman, not extremely attractive (Or maybe she is, she's just so covered up you cant tell, which also wins points, as opposed to, say, Beatrix who is also stupid powerful and badass, but is basically great tits and great hair), but her entire backstory revolves around her being emo over her stupid boyfriend. Zidane gets third by default because he has a penis. Theoretically.

I love her outfit -- and the black nail polish is a nice touch, too. :3 But I do have to admit that I'm not really familiar with Faris. I know who she is, but I've never played the game. (I own FF1, FF2, & FF5 but have never managed to play any of them, just 6 & above.) Heh. I should really get on that...!

But anyway, I hear you on Olette -- although I thought she & Kairi could've had something. (What can I say? I see slash and femslash everywhere!) But I think you're right -- Olette would work better with someone a little stronger, maybe more spontaneous. (Which is probably why people pair her with Hayner so often. Although I'm sure you can guess how I feel about that pairing!)

And Setzer! What a tramp. ;P I wish they'd brought Locke in from FF6, he's so much cooler. :3 But still, it was nice just to have someone from FF6 there.

If we're going to go completely canon, I have to admit, I kind of have a little soft spot for Olette and Pence. As I was telling my friend the other day, "Let's face it. The only time a dude goes shopping with a chick is if he's either gay or whipped." It's a completely sterile, "I-could-never-ask-her-out-shes-my-friend-she'd-just-laugh-at-me-and-things-would-be-awkward" relationship though, whereas I like my Hayner and Roxas to be a little more ...er ... X-rated. Or at least PG-13, I mean, come on.

If we are talking about the happy, happy slashy parts of our minds that we know are not real but pretend they are, I adore teen!Faris and Olette. Faris would teach Olette how to play Struggle and climb tress and also bring her flowers. It would be so cute.
